The genesis of this work began during my residency in Gozo, Malta in October of 2009. Raw. Fragile. Exposed marks discovered in layers of wax and resin. Depth itself, inspired by life. Marks obscured as memories fade to their place in the past. The pull of internal surfaces battle for attention with external forces. Much as life in the space between chaos and tranquility.
